How to Sign Up for a Google AdWords Account

As a PPC client, you will be required to create a google adwords account.  Before creating the google adwords account you will need to have a gmail email address.  If you do not have one you must create one.  

Go to http://www.google.ca/adwords/  and click on Start Now.

STEP 1:  ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS

1. Enter in your Gmail email address.

2. Enter in Test.com

3. Select if you would like to receive recommendations to improve your ad performance.  Select YES or NO for this option.

4. Click Continue.

 

NOTE: Please DO NOT put your domain address in Step 2.  Put in TEST.COM

STEP 1:  ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS

It will now ask you to enter in your gmail logins (gmail email address and password).  Now click Sign In.

STEP 2: YOUR FIRST CAMPAIGN

Now you must set up your daily budget.  We do recommend starting with a budget of $5.00 a day.  If you would like to use a different amount that is fine as well.   Click Save.

NOTE: Many agents prefer to use a monthly budget, instead of a daily budget.  If this is the case you will need to divide your monthly budget by 31 to get the daily budget amount. ie: Monthly Budget = $200 / 31 days = $6.45.  Therefore you daily budget would be $6.45.  

STEP 2: YOUR FIRST CAMPAIGN

Now click on Select Your Keywords

Add in 15 keywords and then click on Save.  

NOTE: These keywords that you are entering doesn't really matter as our PPC Staffer will be entering in new keywords for your campaign.

Leave the Bid box alone and then click on "Write Your Ad".

For the ad Title type in Test Test and for the last two boxes enter in the word Test.  Now click Save.

Now click on Save and Continue at the bottom of the screen.

Now enter in your billing information.  Once you are done, click on Save and Continue.

Now click on Finish and Create Campaign.

Now you will have to agree to Google's terms and conditions.  Checkmark I agree at the bottom of the page and click on Finish and Create Campaign.

You are almost finished.  Now click on Take Me To My Account.

STEP 5: PAUSE THE CAMPAIGN

Once you are in your account, you will need to pause your campaign.  This is done so you are not charged for this campaign until our PPC staffer creates the proper campaign in your account.  Beside "Campaign 1" click on the green dot.

Select Paused from the drop down menu.

You will now see the campaign is paused.  You may now log out of the screen.
