How to Create a New Sign Up / Registration Form

Please note the fields used are just examples.  You can customize the form however you wish.

Click on the "+" to create a new form

Step 4: Form Name

Now Enter in the Form Name, this can be anything you want.  Just make sure its easy to remember what info is available on the form.

Next click on Add Ne Form

Select from the drop down menu where you want to leads to go. Then click on Save.

NOTE:  If you would like the lead to be sent elsewhere, you will need to change that in the Feeds section.

There are 5 different form field types that you can use on your form.

3. Text Area

4. Hidden Input

5. Checkbox

 

For this example, we will use a mix of input, select and check box field types.

Step 6: Create the Form Fields

1. Input Form Field

To insert to input form field, click on the word input.

A blank field box will appear

Now click into the empty form field.  Once you do the field settings will populate on the right hand-side of the screen.

The first field allows you to select which type of info you want from this field. For this example, Full Name will be used.

Please enter the field name. This can be anything you want.

Placeholder

Please enter the placeholder name.  This can be anything you want. The placeholder is the text that will show up in the field to give the user an idea of what you want in that field.

Is this a required field?  Meaning does the visitor have to fill out this field or no?

Does this field need to have a default value? If so please enter it in.

When you are done, click on Update Field

2. Select Form Field

To create a select form field (drop down menu option), click on the word select.

You will now see the Select form field below.  Now click into the field to open up the field settings.

What will Field Contain

Before you make changes to this field, think what you want the field to contain.  What is the question you want to ask them.  

In this example it will be a question in regards to when they are moving

If you would like to have this question mandatory, please select Yes

Now type in the options that you would like to appear in the drop down menu, separating each option by a comma. Once you are finished, click on Update Field.

3. Text Area

If you would like to add in a text area into your form, please click on Text Area.  This field will allow a user, to add in their own notes or comments.

Now click into the blank text box area.

When finished click on Update Field.

4. Hidden Input

If you would like to create a hidden field in your form, please use the hidden input option.

A hidden field can be adding the date or the domain name that the person came from when they filled out the form.

What Will Field Contain?

You may select any option from the drop down menu, however using Other is most used for the Hidden Input box

What name do you want to give to this field?  Make sure the field name is easy to remember what hidden field you have inputted.

Default Value

Default value can be anything that you want to put in there. However if you want to use one of the system commands you may ie: [DomainName]

When you are done, click Update Field.

NOTE:

[Date] - This command will show todays date like this 7/13/2016 12:17:51 PM

[DomainName] - This command will show the domain name that the form loads in.

[FromURL:Value:Value] - First Value will be the name of the query string you are passing in, and second value will be in case the query with that name was empty.

Example: [FromURL:Source:Postal Code Page]

If you were to pass to your domain the name "Source" like this http://alu-1035.wehelp.ca/?Source=Google the hidden value you set here will have "Google" inside it. Best way to understand this is to test it out.

5. CheckBox

If you would like to add in a check box field in your form please click on the Check Box option

Click on the Do You Agree Box.  On the right hand side of the screen you will see the option you have in order to customize this field.

Enter in what you would like the field to say when it is empty.  The default for the check box field is Do You Agree, but you can change this if you would like.

If you want this box checked by default, then please select yes from the drop down menu.  If not, leave it set to No.

When you are done, click on Update Field.

6. Submit Button

To the bottom left of the form, you will see a submit button.  You have the ability to customize the text on this button. To do so just click on the button.

You can update the text of the button here, if desired.

Send Leads To

Where do you want the leads to go?  Do you want a email to be sent to you with the lead contact info or do you want it to be sent another Feed?

Click on Update Field when you are finished.

Close Form Editor

Continue adding in as many fields as desired for the form.  When done, please click on the Close Form Editor button (top right).

You will now be brought back to your form page.  To see a preview of your completed form, click on the form.

You are now finished.  You will now be able to use the created form on various landing pages that you create.
